5K Fun Run & 1 Mile Dog Walk
When: Saturday, October 17, 2015
- 7:15am – Packet pickup and race-day registration
- 8:30am – 1mi dog walk
- 9:00am – 5k fun run
- 9:30am – Finish line party begins!
- 10:00am – Awards ceremony
Where: Villages of Bear Creek Park - 951 Bear Creek Parkway; Euless, TX 76039
Course:
- Trek out and back on paved trails on the Trails of Euless for a 5k course that runs through Bear Creek Park to McCormick Park, loops through Bob Eden Park then back to the start. The 1mi dog walk is a nice stroll on the park’s nature trail; there are signs identifying the trees and other plant life, which adds a touch of environmental education to your pup’s athletic endeavor.
- Water at 1.5mi on 5k course, at start/finish of both.
- 5K: Runners/walkers only on the 5k course. No dogs, strollers, bikes, scooters, or skates.
- 1mi: Dogs allowed on the 1mi course. Strollers welcome. No bikes, scooters, or skates. Note: There is a 2-dog maximum per person, and 1 bandanna is included in the registration fee (you can purchase additional bandannas for $10 each)
- Not a runner? You can still support this great organization! Register for theCatnap for Hunger and don’t run. You don’t even have to show up. Stay on the couch. We’ll mail your t-shirt to you, sleepyhead! Support the cause while staying off your paws!
Awards & Goodies:
- Awards for top three finishers in male and female in the run in each age group.
- Age divisions for participants in the 5k are: under-18, 19-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60+.
- Awards for top three finishers in the dog walk, no age divisions.
- Participants will receive a goody bag with t-shirt (5k) or bandanna (1mi), various goodies, and finish-line refreshments. T-shirt and bandanna quantities are limited. All participants registered by September 15th guaranteed a race t-shirt (5K or Catnap) or doggie bandanna (1mi). After September 15, t-shirts and doggie bandannas are first registered, first served.
Entry Fee:
- $30 per runner/walker/catnapper by September 1, 2015
- $35 per runner/walker/catnapper by October 16, 2015
- $40 per runner/walker/catnapper on race day
- Entry fees are NON-REFUNDABLE and entries are NON-TRANSFERABLE. Sorry, no exceptions. Once we receive and accept your entry, you will not receive a refund if you cannot participate. You may not give or sell your number to anyone else. The event will be held rain or shine.
- $2 surcharge for XXL T-shirt (5K & Catnap)
- $15 for extra T-shirts. NOTE: Extra T-shirts can only be purchased in conjunction with a 5K/Catnapper registration and not as a standalone purchase.
- $10 for extra bandannas NOTE: Extra bandannas can only be purchased in conjunction with a Dog Walker registration and not as a standalone purchase.
